Write a song for someone you've lost
Give their name, who they were to you and one or two small things you keep remembering. Taoyuan returns lyrics in about half a minute and two complete versions in one to three minutes. The tone stays quiet and restrained; no 'forever' or 'heaven' unless you ask.
What to put in
- Their name and your relationship
- One or two specifics: a dish, a habit, a phrase
- The tone: calm, grateful, or missing them
- Where: the memorial, the anniversary, only for yourself
What it sounds like
Default is slow piano and strings, a soft voice, short lines, and space at the end. An instrumental version is available.
A song for my grandmother, Judith, who died last year. She knitted me a scarf every winter and always said 'come home when it's cold'. For the anniversary.
